What is Schlage Converge™ technology?
Converge technology is Schlage’s new, patent-pending proprietary feature, which uses Ultra Wideband to deliver exceptional accuracy and understand a user’s intent for hands-free unlocking. With Apple hands-free unlock with home key and UWB, Schlage Converge™ technology pinpoints a user’s credentialed iPhone or Apple Watch and calculates their approaching speed, trajectory and motion. Once Schlage Converge confirms the user’s intent to enter, their Sense Pro™ will unlock precisely as they reach their door.
What is Ultra Wideband?
UWB is a secure, low-energy radio technology capable of determining the precise location of credentialed devices over short distances, outperforming Bluetooth’s distance estimation with unmatched accuracy.
How does Ultra Wideband work?
Ultra Wideband uses both Time-of-Flight (ToF) and Angle of Arrival (AoA) to precisely measure the distance and angle between credentialed devices. Time of Flight measures a user’s approach to know the actual time it takes for a radio pulse to travel between your authorized device and your Sense Pro™, while Angle of Arrival determines the direction you are travelling.
How does Schlage Converge™ technology use Ultra Wideband?
Schlage Converge uses Ultra Wideband’s measurements of both Time-of-Flight and Angle of Arrival to precisely calculate a user’s approach and intent for hands-free unlocking, meaning it not only measures the proximity and approach of a user’s device but also calculates whether the user intends to enter their door. Schlage Converge technology provides a highly intelligent use of UWB, combining the precision proximity measurement of UWB with the power of our proprietary intent feature.
Is an Ultra Wideband smart lock secure?
By combining measurements of both distance (ToF) and direction (AoA), Schlage Converge™ technology can calculate a user’s precise location and intent to enter. This means Converge understands and will remain locked if a user is inside their home walking near the door, hanging out on their front porch, or walking past their front door without intent to enter. Once Schlage Converge confirms that the user is approaching the door with intent to securely enter their home, it will unlock precisely as they reach their door. UWB’s utilization of the IEEE 802.15.4z security standard, which includes a Scrambled Timestamp Sequence (STS), protects Sense Pro smart locks from signal eavesdropping and tampering. This high level of precision, security protocols and additional intent calculations within Schlage Converge technology give Sense Pro smart locks premium security that is highly resistant to cyber-attacks.

What is Apple hands-free unlock with home key?
Apple hands-free unlock with home key allows a user’s iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock their Sense Pro™ for secure hands-free entry. Apple hands-free unlock with home key requires a Thread-enabled home hub such as Apple TV 4k, HomePod (2nd generation), HomePod mini, or a compatible third-party Thread border router running the latest software. Hands-free unlock with home key is available with Apple Watch Series 6 and later, excluding Apple Watch SE, running watchOS 11.5 or later and iPhone 11 and later, excluding iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation) and iPhone 16e, running iOS 18.5 or later.

Will Sense Pro™ support Aliro?
Sense Pro™ is Aliro compatible and, once certified, is expected to support Aliro digital keys in Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet later this year. These digital keys will allow Sense Pro owners with Samsung or Google devices enabled with UWB to use hands-free unlock and those enabled with NFC to use tap to unlock.

This means Sense Pro™ works with the Matter devices in your smart home ecosystem. Simply look for the Matter symbol on specific devices to easily confirm that they work together and seamlessly connect to your favorite compatible ecosystem.
How does Matter work with Thread?
Thread low-power radio technology connects devices in a wireless mesh network that is reliable, secure and battery friendly. Thread connects devices, and Matter is the universal language connected devices use to communicate with each other. With Matter over Thread, Sense Pro™ can easily connect and communicate with other compatible devices in your smart home. Your Sense Pro smart lock will still work together with other compatible Matter over Thread devices within your home if the WiFi goes out, and Sense Pro will benefit from optimized battery performance compared to WiFi.
Is Sense Pro™ a remote access smart lock? What app do I need to manage Sense Pro remotely?
While setting up Sense Pro™ through the Schlage Home app, users have the option to add their lock to both the Schlage Home app and Apple Home app. Pairing with the Apple Home app commissions Sense Pro for hands-free unlocking and tap to unlock with Apple Home keys. Pairing Sense Pro with the Schlage Home app gives customized remote access and complete lock features, including hands-free entrance modes, admin virtual keys, guest access code management, history log and auto lock settings.
Pairing with the Schlage Home app is ideal for homes with both iOS and Android mobile devices, giving each the ability to remotely manage Sense Pro. iOS users can manage their Sense Pro in both the Schlage Home app and the Apple Home app simultaneously, providing the benefits and functionality of both solutions, while Android users can manage the lock from anywhere through the Schlage Home app.
